Wisconsin’s White Jasmine Building Business on Foundation of Food and Family

White Jasmine

Food has been at the heart of Huma Siddiqui’s life ever since she was a child growing up in Pakistan. Meals were a time to enjoy good conversation, company and fresh foods with aromatic spices that tantalized sight, smell and taste. Huma carried that love of food and family with her as she raised her own family while living in four countries, eventually making Wisconsin home and starting her business White Jasmine

White Jasmine is a mix of Huma’s love of cooking, and sharing flavorful foods and spices that bring people together. Through all the places she has lived, Huma has discovered that it doesn’t matter where people grew up or what language they speak, we all speak a common language at the dinner table.

In the 10 years that I have known Huma, she and her son Samir Karimi have worked hard to grow White Jasmine into a wonderfully rich business showcasing amazing spice blends, deliciously spiced Wisconsin Gouda cheeses, numerous cooking classes and a weekly cooking show appropriately named White Jasmine Everyday Cooking.

White Jasmine has planted deep roots within the community with its charitable involvement. Huma works with Community Shares of Wisconsin, has auctioned private cooking classes to raise money for the American Heart Association and regularly cooks meals for residents of a Madison homeless shelter.

Each meal she cooks has her love of community and each recipe in its own way reflects the White Jasmine passion for bringing people together through healthy and heartfelt meals. Through charity giving, and the growing success of its signature spice blends and popular line of spiced Wisconsin Gouda cheeses, White Jasmine has been blessed with small business success. Now they are ready to build on that success, but to do that they need our help. White Jasmine’s Kiva fundraising campaign was launched to help raise $10,000 in loans to help White Jasmine continue to develop and expand its small business operations here in Wisconsin.
